Join Explorers Club 50 explorer Alejandro Arteaga and The Explorers Club for a deep dive into Alejandro’s new book, Reptiles of Ecuador, as well as insights into the process of finding and cataloging nearly 500 species in extreme environments.
In this presentation, biologist Alejandro Arteaga will bring to NY the story of the Reptiles of Ecuador book as well as some of the few copies printed of this enigmatic volume that took 14 years to produce. Arteaga will share some of the secrets behind finding the nearly 500 target species, some of which were previously declared extinct. He will also answer some of the most common questions about the project, such as how did we pose all the snakes and lizards in the same way and how did we photograph a 4 m long caiman on a white background? Arteaga will reveal what is coming next and distribute 30 books of this heavy volume among the attendees.
In-person tickets are $20 for Members, and $35 for the General Public.
