Join The Explorers Club, on Wednesday, May 14 for a peek into a groundbreaking and ongoing conservation effort aiming to restore one of the most threatened species on Earth.

In one of the most ambitious species restoration efforts on Earth, African Parks is undertaking the reintroduction of hundreds of southern white rhinos into secure, well-managed protected areas across Africa through its 10-year Rhino Rewild Campaign. Originally launched to prevent the dispersal of the world’s largest captive rhino population, the program is now restoring these keystone species to the wild—revitalizing ecosystems, creating conservation-based economies, and reshaping the future of large-scale species protection. In 2024 alone, more than 240 rhinos were translocated to multiple sites in South Africa, including the first rhino release in Greater Kruger in 50 years. These efforts are paving the way for reintroductions to Akagera National Park in Rwanda and Garamba National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2025. Join us for a fascinating conversation with Donovan Jooste, Project Manager for Rhino Rewild, and members of African Parks' leadership team as they share behind-the-scenes insights into this bold initiative. Learn how logistics, security, science, and long-term planning converge to make conservation at scale not only possible—but essential—for Africa’s wildlife and people.
