In 1947, Norwegian explorer and Explorers Club member Thor Heyerdahl set sail on a balsawood raft named Kon-Tiki from Peru to the Polynesian islands to demonstrate the possibility of ancient transoceanic contact between South America and Polynesia. The journey, covering approximately 4,300 miles across the Pacific Ocean, lasted 101 days and successfully reached the Tuamotu Islands. To celebrate this historic expedition, The Explorers Club is proud to exclusively feature limited edition camp mugs from the Kon-Tiki Museum in Oslo, Norway. Cheers!
