Join The Explorers Club on Tuesday, October 15th, to hear about the various and complicated ways the dramatic landscape of the Arctic has been translated into painting, photography, and other visual mediums over the course of its exploration, as well as how those representations have informed public perception of the polar regions.

In her recent NYPL exhibition and book, Elizabeth Cronin examines how the Arctic has been visually perceived over time as well as how it has been portrayed by contemporary artists of the 21st century. This talk will highlight aspects of the exhibition and book as well as delve deeper into some of its most interesting themes.

In-person tickets are $20 for Members, and $35 for the General Public.
Check-in will begin at 6:00 pm, with a beer and wine reception from 6:00 – 7:00 pm
